Our mission is to ensure a competitive and reliable international ocean transportation supply system that supports the U.S economy and protects the public from unfair and deceptive practices.

What We Do
- Enforce laws and regulations related to ocean shipping and transportation
- Ensure compliance with the Shipping Act statute and regulations through reviews of business records and practices of Ocean Transportation Intermediaries (OTIs) and other entities.
- Monitor filed service contracts, agreements, and market conditions to promote competition and prevent anticompetitive behavior
- Issue licensure to industry professionals that demonstrate compliance with regulatory standards
- Assist in filing and reviewing tariffs for compliance with regulations and to ensure transparency and fairness in pricing
