On Monday, January 20, 2025, President Trump appointed Commissioner Louis Sola as the new Chairman of the Federal Maritime Commission. I want to extend my sincerest congratulations to Chairman Sola as he takes over the helm at the Federal Maritime Commission. I am confident that the Commission will continue to succeed under Chairman Sola’s leadership, and he will have my full support as I continue my term as a Commissioner.
I want to express my appreciation to Chairman Sola, Commissioner Rebecca Dye, and Commissioner Max Vekich for being such wonderful and gracious colleagues during my Chairmanship.
After nearly four years, I depart the Chairmanship with both pride and humility. Pride due to the Commission’s incredible achievements. Humility because I know that the FMC’s accomplishments during my tenure as Chairman have only been possible because of the dedication and professionalism of the entirety of the Commission’s staff. Together, we have achieved great strides over these last few years – progress appreciated by both Republican and Democratic leaders in Congress – and I look forward to contributing all I can to the continued success during this next chapter at the Commission.
